Matt Baker
Owner & CEO
As Founder and CEO of Brew-tiful Lines, Baker is the driving force behind our commitment to clean draft systems and exceptional customer service. With experience as both a brewery taproom manager and a draft technician for one of the nation's largest beverage distributors, Baker knows that every great pint starts long before it reaches the glass.
A Cicerone® Certified Beer Server with more than 15 years of leadership experience in retail and customer experience, plus a Bachelor of Science focused on Business and Information Technology, Baker combines technical expertise with a customer-first mindset. Whether he's helping troubleshoot a complex draft issue or ensuring every account receives consistent, high-quality service, he's passionate about helping retailers serve beer exactly as the brewer intended.
When he's not working with customers, you'll likely find him enjoying an English stout, cheering on the Carolina Panthers, or spending time with family. His mission is simple: make every pour the best it can be.
Karri Kennedy Baker
Co-Owner | Chief Operating & Communications Officer
As Co-Owner and COO/CCO, she's the strategic mind behind the personnel and business operations, communications, and future strategy that keep Brew-tiful Lines running smoothly.
With nearly 25 years of senior leadership experience at UNC Charlotte—including developing and launching the university's Craft Beer Business Essentials Certificate—Karri brings extensive expertise in strategic planning, organizational leadership, communications, and process improvement. She works behind the scenes to ensure every customer enjoys responsive service, clear communication, and a seamless experience from start to finish.
A passionate supporter of North Carolina's craft beer community, Karri is always looking for ways to strengthen relationships with customers, industry partners, and the communities we serve. When she's not refining processes or supporting the team, she's spending time with family, listening to Yacht Rock, or searching for a great Flanders Red Ale.
Micah Owens
Chief Draft Technician & Account Manager
Few people bring the depth of draft system experience that Micah does. From maintaining quality across hundreds of accounts to leading draft operations for one of the region's largest beverage distributors, he knows what it takes to keep beer pouring at its best.
After beginning his career as a draft technician, Micah advanced to manage draft system maintenance and quality assurance across a territory serving approximately 1,000 restaurants and bars, leading a team of technicians while developing training programs and operating procedures that improved consistency and quality. His experience allows him to quickly diagnose problems, recommend practical solutions, and help customers get the most from their draft systems.
Micah's path is anything but ordinary. With degrees in Anthropology and Public Administration and two years serving in the Peace Corps, he brings curiosity, adaptability, and a people-first approach to every customer interaction.
When he's not helping customers, Micah and his partner, Rocky, enjoy spending time at the Carolina Renaissance Festival, where he has proudly served as the festival's trusted draft system expert for years. Huzzah!
Kevin Kennedy
Senior Draft Technician & Account Manager
Kevin combines technical training, hands-on experience, and a genuine passion for helping customers to deliver outstanding draft system service.
A graduate of the Micro Matic Dispense Institute, where he earned his Dispensing Specialist Certificate, Kevin brings a strong technical foundation to Brew-tiful Lines. Before joining the team, he spent five years with one of the nation's largest propane providers, developing expertise in pressurized systems, precision equipment, and safety practices that translate naturally into the draft beer industry.
Kevin's background reflects his curiosity and versatility. He's an artist, musician, former farm associate, and even enjoys blacksmithing—experiences that have shaped his thoughtful approach to problem-solving and craftsmanship.
Originally from Southwest Ohio, Kevin recently relocated to the Charlotte area with his wife, Jessica. Customers appreciate his calm demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the job right the first time.
Alex Shumaker
Senior Draft Technician/Account Manager
Alex brings a unique blend of beverage industry experience, account management, and customer-focused service to Brew-tiful Lines. He began his career in alcohol sales with a regional beverage distributor before moving into a Sales Consultant role with one of the nation’s largest family-owned beverage alcohol distributors. Through these roles, Alex developed firsthand knowledge of the beverage industry and the needs of the bars, restaurants, and retailers we serve, while building strong relationships and helping customers grow their beverage programs. His diverse professional background has also given him a practical, adaptable approach and a strong appreciation for quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.
A former collegiate baseball player, Alex continues to stay involved in the sports he loves, playing in a local softball league and umpiring. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and will marry his fiancée Leah this fall!
